See the problem with that is the very fabric of what the Supreme Court is would be ruined. They don’t listen to the people, the listen to the Constitution. Which is good, in the sense that lobbying doesn’t work on them, but bad, that the people’s voices aren’t heard-

Studies show term limits don't actually shorten pols' time in power, they just bounce between offices or become lobbyists. It also gives party leaders more power — bipartisan work often comes from long-timers who have friendships across the aisle, think Sens. Kennedy and Hatch.

I understand the appeal of term limits: politicians get younger, and that one politician you hate has to leave. But those things don't *inherently* make politics better. A law that reduces people's choice of vote and punishes experience will do more harm than good.

No, we really don't. If you dont like them, vote them out. But it helps to have some experience and seniority to craft legislation.

I generally agree with Ms. Taylor. Experience helps immensely in the Washington maze... What we need is an electorate that consistently votes and holds legislators accountable.
