Does their membership get to vote on their officers?
Many folks are memebers of the NRA to keep their safety certifications the organization provides. Problem with the @NRA isn’t the members, it’s the leadership actively campaigning against things like universal background checks and getting up to 10% commission on many gun sales.

Universal background checks require a registry which most members vehemently oppose. NRA gets no commission on sales, the US Government gets 11% though.

If there was a registry of who had which guns. Gun control could be used to oppress a certain demographic just as the war on drugs was used to do so. Weed was not made illegal b/c was dangerous. It was b/c it allwd the gvnmt easily criminalize thr mxicn political opponents.
