A Superintendent in Alabama is soliciting donations to a 'specific' charity in exchange for "early release" from school:
“It just doesn’t feel right for our boss to be offering to let us go home early if we pay a certain charity some money.”

Outrageous to put pressure on teachers to donate. Hope Alabama Ethics Commission (AEC) will actually look into whether a quid pro quo relationship between charity donations and early-release is ethics violation. Look forward to a follow up story!

Not to tell a "when you get to be my age" story, but... okay, when you do, you will look back and find that there were maybe 3-4 teachers you had whose knowledge and mentorship have stayed with you your entire life.
