Homicides in SF are +13% YoY, compared to a nat’l average of 13%. (ie, we are exactly average.) Last year was a historic low & the entire nation has gone up during the pandemic. Some cities like Chicago have seen 50% increases. Other cities in the Bay Area have seen bigger jumps.

Um 13% increase in homicides is a problem even if it is an increase to the national average
