Spent most of today trying to get a young man into drug treatment. I've said this a lot, & am working to change it-- our city doesn't prioritize immediate, on demand treatment. It's complicated to access w lots of barriers. And Fentanyl is brutal unlike anything we've ever seen.

To truly face this crisis head on, yes we need expanded harm reduction. We need law enforcement to stop fentanyl dealing. We also need to get serious about treatment. It needs to be easy to access, streamlined coordination, intensive case management. It currently is not.

@SFPD @SFPDTenderloin arresting fentanyl dealers does nothing when @chesaboudin releases them - tell him to prosecute and keep street fentanyl dealers off the street. you now claim you want law enforcement but are you ready to prosecute..? Maybe after 700 more killings next year?
