As of today, I have officially been an Australian resident for 6 months. At least half of that has been a haze of early morning VO sessions, mind you. This also means I am no longer allowed to drive.

Oddly, I've begun to develop a sense of "that person looks very Australian" and yet, when pressed, I can't identify exactly what qualities that requires.

Found the first episode of #StrangeNewWorlds a bit stilted and awkward, but the second one was really good. Hearkens back to when Star Trek was more about exploration, and I’m digging the retro vibe - without the over-sentimentality some of the newer ST has had. So far, anyhow.

Generally speaking, a team will have been crunching like mad to try to meet the original deadline. If the release date is finally moved, it's because they had no choice. Our half-orc wizard bullied him into fighting in the first place, whereupon the lad charged into the fray - and somehow keeps making it despite me targeting him at every opportunity. I can't decide whether he'll end up trauma-ridden or bizarrely overconfident.

My D&D group has a teenage lad with them who was hired as a labourer, and somehow he WILL NOT DIE due to extraordinarily lucky rolls. I finally made him a 1st level fighter, and STILL he lives on. They've decided he is the true protagonist of their tale.

Honestly, the only people I can imagine thinking high school was the best time in their life are the ones who peaked there. All the bullies who went on to become cops, the secretly bitter soccer moms, that sort of thing.

There's a point during VO recording - when you've been doing it for months and months - when a part of you wonders why we can't just use, oh I don't know, dolphin sounds instead of speech, so we can get past this point of development already.

The problem with these hands-free earbud thingies is that you can no longer tell if someone's just a douche who doesn't know when to disconnect or if they're a crazy talker. If someone's stream-of-consciousness blathering in public, I now have to wonder.

My ranking for the Disney+ MCU shows as of now: 1. WandaVision 2. Moon Knight (but it's close!) 3. Hawkeye (shockingly good) 4. Loki 5. What If...? . . 10. Falcon & the Winter Soldier

Finished Moon Knight, and while the last episode could have been longer it was still very satisfying. Oscar Isaac really carried this series with his performance. If they have another season, hopefully we see a lot more Moon Knight in action!

Saw the new Doctor Strange tonight. I thought the Big Bad needed more ramping up, but otherwise? It was delightful. A real visual spectacle with some nice character and fan service moments. The Giant Nerd in me is happy.

Just a reminder to all that games being political or progressive is a recent phenomenon. Prior to libs forcing them to become "performatively woke", games never commented on anything political at all. They were all neutral and never ever had provocative messages. Or so I hear.
