Within a month of the discovery of the Wuhan coronavirus, the has generated an assay for the virus and made the protocol publicly available to the world. This is an outstanding example of the importance of publicly funded scientific infrastructure!

Our preprint () - the first full white matter atlas of the chimpanzee - is out today! Even if you are not a neuro person, I hope you enjoy the figures, which show how chimp white matter compares to humans and macaques 🐵

With food, the "what" rather than "where from" is far more important to understand the environmental (carbon) footprint of our diets. Working with et al. to add nuances to the narrative

All data are open access. For both macaques and humans, tractograms and masks relative to the tracts part of the study are available on the Git repository.

Human amygdalofugal and uncinate are well dissociable from internal capsule, cingulum bundle, extreme capsule, fornix and stria terminalis.

The PFC projections of amygdalofugal and uncinate are preserved across humans and macaques, although minor differences could be observed.

In rostral PFC, however, the two tracts connect with slightly different portions of frontopolar cortex.

The two paths are anatomically organized along a medial-lateral axis in the forebrain and caudal PFC but converge together in more rostral orbitofrontal areas.

We then used the macaque pathways to identify the amygdalofugal and uncinate paths in the human brain.

Using an approach guided by tracer data allowed us to limit potential artifacts arising by the complex course of these pathways in forebrain and orbitofrontal areas.

Using non-invasive diffusion MRI and tractography we identified the anatomy and PFC connectivity of the amygdalofugal pathway and uncinate fascicle.

First, we used published tracer data to guide our reconstruction of tracts connecting amygdala and rostral temporal areas with prefrontal cortex (PFC) in macaques.
