So congrats to twitter for unsubscribing me from my $3 twitter "blue" plan (only good for tweet edits) which is most definitely not worth the $11 they now laughably charge. You have successfully turned a paying customer into a non paying one. Elon does it again!

If you could overdose on fentanyl just by touching it or being near it then people wouldn’t be injecting it.
And every medical center would be a mass casualty.
Signed,

Even by their standards, this is...a lot.
Also when did Rufo start branding himself as a journalist?
Quote Tweet
With absolutely no evidence, Chris Rufo and Tucker Carlson claim that Wells Fargo has stopped giving mortgages to white people.
Rufo claims this is an act of “racial revenge” & echoes neo-Nazi slogans claiming that diversity is a code word for anti-white

BTW, I dunno if this is something that's been discussed much publicly, but in its current iteration owned by Static Media, everything at Wrestling Inc. goes through an editor pre-publication. It's not like most other wrestling sites where the writers publish directly to the site.

Didn’t read like a bit piece to me. It was like “he got got and sometimes it happens”. Also, Rovert gonna say “beep beep boop” or whatever fax machines used to say.

Bringing in a guy who recently booked Marty Scurll as your new on-screen authority figure is...definitely a thing that they would do.

Is the drum loop at the end of the current Bray Wyatt theme an existing sample of any renown? It sounds familiar.

How much this has to do with Dave doing way too much on his own, I don't know, that's probably too difficult to quantify. But 's thread from a week ago goes over that part really well.

Reading the section about the infamous Dragon Gate email/Observer coverage and then @fujiiheya's follow-up tweet thread is a pretty neat insight into the amount of product knowledge and legwork it sometimes takes to actually run down and verify, or in this case, disprove a story. twitter.com/voiceswrestlin…

I really hope everyone understands that this is not an issue of Dave Meltzer getting stories wrong period. It's about his reporting process bring deeply flawed/exploitable at this point. You can do everything right and still get a story wrong, but that's not what happened here.

New from me at @WrestlingInc: I have further corroboration of Dave Meltzer relying on emails from a hoaxer posing as Dragongate talent, also making sure to get Dave's side and contextualize how his lack of due diligence also impacted more serious stories.

Santos’s loyalty is nowhere near the craziest thing about it. They lost their liquor license in 20 after hosting a covid-spreading drunken maskless conga line. The owner crashed his plane into the East River, killing a passenger. His brother got booked for human trafficking.

I went to the Queens Italian restaurant where George Santos has somehow spent almost $50k in campaign funds since 2020, often in installments of exactly $199.99, one cent below what you have send the FEC receipts for. I tried to recreate his favorite meal.

Kevin McCarthy just said George Santos shouldn’t resign because “a lot of” his colleagues also lie.
He really said the quiet part out loud.

I genuinely appreciate that Dave seems to understand that this wasn't anyone wanting to do a hit piece; just my editors & I feeling that the Dragongate thing was so egregious, public, & corroborated that it warranted further attention given his stature as THE wrestling reporter.

The way the gas stove culture war is already playing out is a great reminder that you could very easily get the right to start eating lead paint chips if you simply pointed out that liberals want to control how much lead you consume.

I don't think anything shows how hollow the culture wars are more than the governor of Florida, the state with one of the lowest rates of gas stove ownership, making gas stoves his biggest issue.

Since it was trending in this direction regardless, it's not nearly as big a shift as it sounds, but I don't like the idea of forcing new construction to have the most expensive kind of heating. (And tho I like a lot of things about them, "split" HVAC systems can be erratic.)

FWIW, this was already kind of happening on its own without the ban. Approval for gas lines in new construction was taking so long that landlords had been defaulting to going full electric in those buildings for at least a few years.
Quote Tweet
In NYC we passed landmark legislation in 2021 banning gas hookups in new construction. Means all heating, hot water, and yes STOVES, will be electric in new buildings going forward.
NYC is going to win the race to carbon neutrality. We are leaving red states in the dust.

I find it really hard to believe an AEW-WWE transaction is a realistic possibility but I guess this is part of the conversation now.

We talked about this on Wrestlenomics Radio more than a month ago when the analysis was published. This is a distortion of what Morgan Stanley wrote.

WON: Morgan Stanley did analysis for Smackdown & felt they couldn’t justify the price tag for the show.
In the 2020-21 season, FOX paid $196.7 million on the show & ended up with $134 million in losses. In 2021-22, FOX paid $208.5 million & ended up with $145 million in losses.

"Missed spots" was so much nicer.
"Nice tries" was even nicer than that!

I stopped using ‘botch’ with wrestling years ago when this slow-headed dude at a show was yelling BOTCH whenever someone wouldn’t land a blocked punch or when a wrestler moved and the other guy landed on the mat after a top rope splash.
I bet ol boy felt so smart.
