Not totally true, day zero is symptom onset regardless of test. If no symptoms, day zero is positive test. "Day 0 of isolation is the day of symptom onset, regardless of when you tested positive" cdc.gov/coronavirus/20

I have a roommate who I've been isolating away from for nearly two weeks at this point. He hasn't tested positive for Covid-19. Fingers crossed it stays that way. I've kept to my bedroom and bathroom + worn a mask when preparing food and brought it back to my bedroom to eat.

Blake was one of my first bosses at Politico, the one who hired me for the job in the first place. He was always a generous colleague, much funnier than he ever got credit for, and was always there when I needed advice, even after he left our newsroom. I'll miss him

I am so shocked and so sad to hear about the tragic death of Blake Hounshell (@NYTBlake @blakehounshell.) I met him in Cairo when I was 22, on the day I got my very first newspaper job. I was excited when he joined The Times and wish I’d spent more time hanging out with him here.

Anecdote is not data, but thanks to the DC Covid-19 Center + the USPS rapid test distribution. Pretty sure I caught on the early end because of the ready availability of rapid at-home tests in my apartment.
