You nincompoop, they did. Trump himself sabotaged every infrastructure initiative. The Mueller investigation was the DOJ's project. House Democrats passed 400 bills

A bipartisan vote to remove Donald Trump from office. A partisan vote to acquit him.

Republican Party just sent out a release: "Mitt Romney turns his back on Utah" + a poll that shows Trump is more popular in Utah than Romney + a screenshot of a tweet from his niece, RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, decrying his vote. Romney was the Republican nominee eight years ago.

  9. Saying History would remember Mitt Romney fondly for his vote to convict is not exactly the world's sickest burn, nor is the idea he'd be more concerned with the long-term than short-term.

I'm not especially moved by this, but I am shocked and I think Romney does deserve credit. (Doug Jones deserves even more). Romney often makes gestures towards doing the right thing, which is his brand, but then turns around and does the wrong thing. So I am surprised.

  13. The knowledge he won't be President is the thing that frees him from having to deny what's in front of his face. (He also got nearly a quarter million more votes in Utah in his POTUS run than Trump did.)

Mitt Romney will vote to convict Trump: "The President is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust," he says. "Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one's oath of office that I can imagine."

I have a ton of respect for Matt and I'm glad he's on Sanders' team, but: 1)getting worked up about who's applauding when & about Pelosi's theatrics strikes me as equivalent levels of suckerdom & 2)sneering at ppl for taking solace in anti-Trump theatrics seems unwise and unkind.

A neat trick: If Jones votes to convict Trump, it's political cynicism because he's going to lose. If Jones votes to acquit Trump it's political cynicism because he is only trying to win.
