    Instead of spending the past 3 years on Mueller and impeachment suppose Trump opponents had spent the time on an infrastructure bill or early childhood education? More good would have been done.

    I'm not especially moved by this, but I am shocked and I think Romney does deserve credit. (Doug Jones deserves even more). Romney often makes gestures towards doing the right thing, which is his brand, but then turns around and does the wrong thing. So I am surprised.

    The knowledge he won't be President is the thing that frees him from having to deny what's in front of his face. (He also got nearly a quarter million more votes in Utah in his POTUS run than Trump did.)

    I have a ton of respect for Matt and I'm glad he's on Sanders' team, but: 1)getting worked up about who's applauding when & about Pelosi's theatrics strikes me as equivalent levels of suckerdom & 2)sneering at ppl for taking solace in anti-Trump theatrics seems unwise and unkind.

    Pelosi applauded some truly awful portions of the speech but at least she gave you suckers a good gif at the end.

    A neat trick: If Jones votes to convict Trump, it's political cynicism because he's going to lose. If Jones votes to acquit Trump it's political cynicism because he is only trying to win.

    Doug Jones is voting like he's got little chance of winning a full term in Alabama. Better play is to keep your friends in DC -- for an appointment in a future Dem administration, perhaps -- than to vote like a red-state Dem in hopes of another major upset back home.
