~ Big news! ~
I’ve been working on an online course with @fortelabs for the past 5 months.
It’s about accelerating your career by writing online.
I’m so, so proud of what we created and I hope you’ll check it out.https://www.writeofpassage.school/

Think about how many literature and writing classes are about to start sending this article out to their students
-
Certainly hope so. This article would have helped me more than 80% of my college classes lol

I did this article.
@david_perell I’ve been thinking about getting on this writing treadmill and you’ve just inspired me to take action. Keep up the writing! -
Happy to hear that. What’s been holding you back?
-
If I had to answer, I’d say it’s one of those things that I’ve struggled to quantify and assuming I write X articles over the next Y years, it doesn’t directly align towards a goal. The opportunities I *could* get from writing seem vague.does that make sense?
-
The challenge is that the benefits of writing are very real but they end up being serendipitous and surprising. Shouldn’t hold you back though. That’s the magic of writing online
-
I hear you. And, this would be an amazing poll and question to writers to understand what’s come of it. E.g. hearing from...
@JamesClear - I’ve written X articles over years and I’ve gotten X, Y, and Z opportunity@TaylorPearsonMe - I wrote X book and here’s what happened Etc

Thank you David, give me a nudge, some guidance, and lodged "bias toward action" in my head, among other things. Also loved seeing
@brainpicker as one of your examples -
Oh yes. She’s the best. If you like Maria, you’ll also like
@TheMusingMind’s writing

Should I start a newsletter now? I barely have 4 articles. I plan to publish once a week. But I don’t trust myself to sustain it. Should I start a newsletter only once I’ve published 10, 20, 50 articles?
-
Really depends. As
@mmay3r once said, best thing to do is start slowly and maintain traction

What am I going to do with all these terrible pots David. An article a day is definitely making me more comfortable with the process (and with sharing my thoughts), even if it doesn't feel like I'm getting any better at it yet.pic.twitter.com/1mLSQXRHuO
