And a few hours later, very appropriately, the book came back to life. And I had the chance to make an homage to Lynch's Baron Harkonnen and the Monty Python's Grim Reaper, indulge in my love for gore and Art Nouveau and have, in general, an insane amount of fun :)

The key to the whole thing were Scrooge himself and the zombies. So I prepared some sketches that defined the style and the character as fast as I could and I sent them over in time for the meeting (I did more, but these are the scans) I could find. And waited.

Such a great gig. 's scripts were just fantastic, gore-y fun, and were a cherry-on-top pleasure to see. A little strange, blood-drenched jewel of a book. They let us do almost anything on it except draw the whole thing :P. Love it to bits :)

Just found out that the Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol mini I drew waaaaaay back then is getting reprinted in the Marvel Zomnibus Returns HC out next October, along with other, far less victorian Marvel Zombie tales!! IT'S STILL ALIVE!!!
