The bizarre element is that it's not as though Chris Cuomo has legions of loyal fans who would forever shun CNN if he were let go. He's not Anderson Cooper. What would the network have to lose by taking Cuomo off the air?

Judging from the swarms of social media harpies who descend whenever someone criticizes him, I think he’s more popular than a lot of us realized. To be really cynical, he’s attractive, especially to middle-aged and up women. He’s like the news equivalent of Michael Buble
