Back on trail w this Biden event in Derry, NH. Opens by talking about losing Beau, finishes by saying "if anyone" should be angry at Republicans, it should be him, but it's a POTUS's job to heal. "I refuse to accept the notion that we'll be in perpetual war with Republicans."

First Q is about drivers licenses for undocumented immigrants. Biden pivots to talk about his first year priorities: Pass immigration bill that gives every undocumented immigrant a path to citizenship, "surge" of immigration judges to clear asylum claims.

Second Q was about gun control, which gave Biden a cue to talk about everything from background checks to passing the Brady bill to biometric locks.

Biden has repeatedly rejected the premise, though, of how he'd "destroy" the NRA. "I don't want to get rid of the NRA. By the way, 56 percent of NRA members agree with me. It's the gun manufacturers, folks, the only corporate enterprise not able to be sued."

A classic NH question just now, in which a voter gave Biden advice to do something he's been doing for months. "I think a winning strategy for you is to ask your opponent when he's going to release his tax returns."

This is not going to be one of those crowds of angry Rs, even though we're in a more GOP part of NH. Final Q (unless Biden takes more) was simply for him to talk about his advocacy for women.
