One of the more puzzling aspects of the 2020 Democratic primary is every major candidate (except Biden) hugging Bernie on Medicare-for-All from 2017 to 2019, then deciding en masse (except Warren) to run away from that position.

Because in 2017-19 it was easy to cheerlead for a program that was never going to reach the floor let alone get passed. It's easy to play opposition and get credit for arguing. But now they see the polls and internal data and in order to win go down a different path.
