A common refrain I’m hearing from Iowa Dems, when asked if any of the debate issues (ending most private insurance, coverage for undocumented immigrants, etc) could hurt the party: Trump won, so the rules about this stuff have been broken.

This is concerning. As we've learned time and again over the last four years, the media are still more than happy to apply the rules to Democrats, while Republicans (and especially their Dear Leader) aren't held to any standard at all.

How can “Medicare for All” end private insurance if Medicare involves private insurance for third of recipients?

The bill improves and expands Medicare. No more gaps in coverage.

Despite left wing derangement, trump has kept his campaign promises. I assume most of these left wing promises will be kept if elected and therefore why trump winning is existential.

I think this aspect of the 2020 campaign's been lost on Republicans. They're still pushing out these faux hot-button issues that used to drive primary coverage. For most Dems, they've seen Trump in action & anything short of his level of lying & behavior seems quaint in comparison

There's a difference btwn policies that directly affect you & behavior. But GOP/media don't get that some hot-button policy issues that affected you in the past don't under current proposals. E.g. Medicare for All ELIMINATES NETWORKS, thus BY ITS NATURE YOU CAN KEEP YOUR DOCTOR.

You Democrats keep resolving your cognitive dissonance between reality and crazy by....getting crazier. Keep it up. Please Keep it up. You will lose. And THEN that CD will be really bad without any release until the Dem party reforms and cleaves away its toxic, lunatic left wing.

“Nothing Matters” is going to have a short life as a winning Democratic strategy.
