Detecting this more and more — D voters have discovered six or seven candidates they take seriously and are annoyed by the bottom tier. If that doesn’t change after the debates, field’s going to start thinning.https://twitter.com/megkinnardap/status/1142484240803741697?s=21 …

Sidenote: Audible groan from the @scdp audience when informed they still have more than a dozen candidates yet to hear from today. (There have been 7 so far.)

There are only four viable Democratic candidates at the moment: Biden, Warren, Harris, and Buttigieg.

This poll informed my thinking on this a lot. Annoyance is either way overstated, or the wrong term (disinterest?)https://twitter.com/DataProgress/status/1142078893471555584?s=19 …

Media have mostly portrayed Biden as the runaway front-runner. But voters seriously are considering a number of candidates who all have a path to victory. https://www.dataforprogress.org/memos/voters-see-an-open-field … pic.twitter.com/R8dUhBcz8Z

Annoyance for deBlasio, for Williamson, for Gabbard, for Yang. All fine people. But they are wasting my time. Hickenlooper, Inslee, and others are as qualified as Obama, but they just don't have it. They deserve 30 seconds to prove otherwise (Mayor Pete did.)

Harris Warren Sanders Biden Beto Buttigieg and booker; of the rest, Gilibrand and Inslee don’t annoy me (I love them both) but everyone else sure as Hell needs to get out and run for statewide or local office at home. Also, so does beto but at least his polls justify running

I imagine most candidates who do poorly in the debates and the Q2 fundraising will hang on for the July debates but after that there is likely to be a number of drop-outs in August

Sept. debate cuts (2% + in 3 polls, double the fundraising) will likely take it to 6/7. That will be Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, Buttiegieg, O'Rourke and Booker. 3 old folks, 3 younger, 1 young 2 POC, 5 white folk 2 women, 5 men (with 1 LGBTQ) Enough.
