If you're a median Dem voter you watched scandals that you did not find to be important shred Kerry (swift boats) and Hillary (emails) but watched another one fail to stop Obama (Rev. Wright). So you can go both ways when a candidate appears to face a crisis.
It is amazingly frustrating that candidates on the right can run with a locomotive full of baggage and a woman on the left can't have a single blemish. This is a failure of for-profit journalism.
Tons of white people in the south claim to be part cherokee or whatever, its a non issue. The right will attack her any way they can, and the people who are receptive to it as an attack would never vote for her anyway

You can be sure the press and media will do their best to follow the GOPs lead when they try to push her back to the "other side." You need something to beat a candidate over the head with or where is the story?
Good Presidential candidates are basically the ones who can overcome these scandals with their personality (Obama/Wright, Clinton/Monica, Reagan/Iran Contra). Unfortunately Warren has more in common with Kerry and Dukakis than Obama or Reagan.

On a personal level, I decided if this was the worst they’ve got against her (compared to other candidates), then I’ll take her. Hard to turn this into a NatSec scandal or something worthy of govt. investigations so it’s far from a dealbreaker.
It wasn't about Trump, really. Her hometown paper kept digging into it and refreshing the issue. Some people on the left, and certain native groups, kept after her about it.
