I'm at the 8-candidate "We the People" 2020 cattle call, which has a weakness endemic to activist events -- longwinded questions that don't get new answers. Castro, who has repeatedly called for end of electoral college, just asked again about it.

Beto's for it (as he's said before). "If we get rid of the Electoral College, all of a sudden we get a little closer to one person, one vote."

Pass National Popular Vote in enough states to get to 270 electoral college votes worth, then ride out the inevitable lawsuits. Seems, if not easy, like a straightforward path.

Of course were body sore losers! Twice in five presidential election we've lost despite winning the popular vote! While R's rig the system in the House & States so they'll always be happy losers and holding power!

It was one thing in 2000 when Gore barely won nationally. Its another for a candidate to win by 2.5% and still lose the election handily.

Hillary won the total vote by 2.9M. Her margin in California was over 4M ahead of Trump. California accounts for essentially all of the total vote win. Thus, the reason for the electoral college.
