    Striking finding from new NBC poll. In 2015, a whopping 67 percent of voters said they could support an independent candidate. Now it's 60 percent -- still big, but spoils the "third party momentum" fantasy.

        i think the most likely third party candidate that maybe a quarter of the country would support would actually be someone like trump in a universe where the GOP nominated an "ordinary" republican for prez
