I talk to people about "Problem tech propaganda" all the time. I once heard somebody say "you can't be negative - it's had over x,xxx hours of dev time spent on it." As if their efforts to fit a square peg in a non-existent hole were a badge of honour. This is next level though.

Did they think of asking the devs what they think how well that x,xxx hours were spent how much of that was spent with their muttering "we shouldn't do this, this is stupid, why are we hacking in sh*te.."?
