  2. Today, we honor Special Deputies George Yeaman Jr & John Mines who will be added to the King County Sheriff’s Office memorial for their sacrifice made in the line of duty. On July 19, 1946, Yeaman & Mines were killed while searching for a downed aircraft in the Cascade Mountains.

  5. Deputy William Gentry was killed when responding to an animal abuse call. While investigating the crime, he went to the house next door where the suspect shot him in the head. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and colleagues at Highlands County Sheriff’s Office in FL.

    Agent Joel Alexis Pantojas-Fuente was tragically killed when he was struck by a passing vehicle while assisting a disabled motorist. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his brothers and sisters in uniform at the San Juan Police Department in Puerto Rico.
