Billionaires want us to forget that a father in the 1980's could spend 40 hours a week selling VCRs and own a home with 2 cars while going on family vacations in a single-income household.

Things made a turn for the worse in 1982 when the highest marginal income tax rate dropped from 70% to 50%, and then in 1987 it dropped from 50% to 38.5%, then in 1988 it dropped to 28%. Ronald Reagan ruined our country.

America has a poverty problem. So in 2017, why did Senate leadership vote for a GIGANTIC TAX BREAK for the wealthiest Americans at a time when they LEAST needed it while America’s people suffered as poverty levels rose through the roof? (Stealing from @profwolff on @jimmy_dore.)

Seriously? No, maybe the 1960s but it was hard for my parents then.

VCR was $400 then. They made that living because they earned 30-40 per unit in commissions and at the time that was considered high tech sales….
What you want us to forget is that vcrs sucked when compared to, aside from everything else, current day streaming tech.
Today you must work hard, work smart, AND be financially literate.
