this is all horrific, but why are these families living 70 miles inside Mexico in the middle of nowhere instead of 70 miles from nowhere in Utah? in Utah, they could carry weapons but probably wouldn't need to what is the mitigating factor? polygamy I don't want a war for this

They've been their for almost 80 years now. Originally they did leave the states for Canada/Mexico because of polygamy. Now they don't/haven't practiced polygamy. However, they have a huge presence in that area including significant land and over 5k people in their community.
