I’m hopeful though that any updates to SwiftUI at WWDC this year will fill in these gaps (more button styles, keybindings, etc) and I can use it again.

I am so much in love with SwiftUI that I am not even considering that there’s a fallback in the form of UIKit (for iOS app).

Yeah I’ve been doing that too… the combine stuff makes for some really nice state management

I'm keeping a lot of the app structure in place as SwiftUI and redoing views with App/UIKit. The thinking being that it'll be easier to replace a view controller or a cell in a year or two, and controlling how things tie together pairs super well with SwiftUI.

I’ve definitely been finding Combine far more useful than SwiftUI

Only reason I'm not jumping into the Combine bandwagon after having come to all of this on my own is that I want to support stuff older than Catalina.

I ended up having to resort to UIKit for using Textfields in the app that I’m working on and then building a TextField manager for handling traversal. Hopefully next WWDC, Apple fills the missing gaps in TextField. We can’t even change the return key type without UIKit.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble with HSplitView changing it’s widths at random times. Seems that to work with SwiftUI on Mac requires even more hacks than on iOS. No NSTableView or NSOutlineView replacement either
