Loved COPSHOP (Rented on VOD). A devilish assortment of (mostly) unsavory characters, each working their own angle to get out of an increasingly complicated situation. No one is safe. Stylish and tense. Also: is a star.

Played WARZONE last night and won THREE times with ! But that didn't stop me from making a fool of myself when I temporarily forgot that for Halloween, they're making ghosts pop out of chests to scare you. (thx to for this clip)

Is it possible we are living at the only time in history where watching the 1984 David Lynch Dune will actually help you understand the story MORE now

“You know how they say sometimes a piece of art tells instead of shows? Is there something beyond that level? Like, ‘bludgeon’ maybe?” - after watching an episode of THE PREMISE with me.

I've been reading 's work for many years. It was a pleasure to welcome him to this week to discuss his new book, "The Loneliest Americans," which deals with the limits of how we construct Asian-American identity.

It’s definitely gotten better in recent months and there are now plenty of examples of the police being identified in active voice, but many headlines often default to the passive voice . Here’s another egregious example from this week (with satirical reply)

Two headlines 10 days apart. When Alec Baldwin shoots someone accidentally, he’s the one doing the shooting, actively. When a police officer shoots someone intentionally, it’s always the victim who “is fatally shot.”

"comedy exists in the terrain where boundaries are recognized and then transgressed without harming people who don’t deserve it. When boundaries are transgressed and people who don’t deserve it are harmed, it’s no longer comedy — it’s horror." -

Dune is incredible. Sci-fi fantasy storytelling of a scale and ambition that only comes around a few times a generation. Visually spectacular. Never a dull moment. Loaded with big ideas. (Just remember it’s ACTUALLY “Dune Part 1.” They tried to hide that part in the marketing.)
