Linux will probably be the first stable and non-apple os to run on Apple silicon. The development is taking a rapid pace. Apple hardware is superb. In a nutshell, Linux now supports - ARM/ARM64, IA-64, RISC-V , MIPS, PowerPC, s390, Sparc, x86 and a few other CPU architectures.
