Stepping away from "professional cutout" also means we can utilise things like humour, personal stories, relations, humanisation points (pets, food etc.). And, the best part is - each one of these moves you more towards "likeable" as well as making you memorable.

Now, likeable is a BIG goal.
The reality is - you are not going to get everyone to like you - it shouldn't even be a goal!
The goal is to make sure that enough people associate you/your name/your profile/brand with "positives",
at least more than your competitors :D

When people see/hear your name, there should be an automatic "value" associated with it, and a positive "emotion" too. This can be spurred by personal interactions, witnessed support, reputation etc. All of this aids in making you "likeable" (not the same as "popular")

I agree with your posts, but especially the last. In the end, you can only be yourself. Some people will understand and like you, some never will. But pretending won't get you anywhere worthwhile.

I don't dismiss the concept of "fake it till you make it", but the less "faking" you have to do, the faster/easier it is to "make it" :D Far to often, there's this weird perspective about being "professional", and what that looks/sounds like.
