So, people and businesses who can afford season tickets will see their taxes go up? And here all I’ve been told is that this bill is a boon for the upper class. 🤔

What's the argument for a ticket donation being untaxable in the first place? Seems like it's basically just part of the ticket cost.

It’s an itemized deduction. They are donating to the athletic department. Same as donating to other parts of the university.

It’s a valid policy question. You are donating to what amounts to a multi-million dollar company at the big schools. Should a “donation” to the NY Yankees be deductible?

That’s great Jim, I’m glad no one associated with a university makes any money, especially their football team.

Maybe, or maybe I don’t think donations to get seats on the 50 at Michigan should be tax deductible.

That’s a BAD thing. That’s ND number 1 reason for telling people about season tickets to ND football. Trust me, I’ve had EVERY ticket rep tell me that.

Seat costs are separate. This is referring donations made by boosters to the separate athletic foundations that fund scholarships. I got a similar letter.

Now that bill is public, is the deduction staying or going?? All I've seen is "charitable donation deductions remain the same".
