I find it terrifying that Twitter is ‘fact checking’ President Trump’s tweets. Whatever you think about him, this social media platform and its founders have an obvious left-leaning bias. The same arguments made in favour of this are put forward for gifting one of our state regulators, like the Electoral Commission, with ‘disinformation’ powers. Can you imagine if that biased quango was deciding what is and isn’t ‘disinformation’ according to its own bias! Wrong.
In NI there is a hyper liberal activist group called ‘Fact Check NI’ who are actually employed by Facebook to ‘fact check’ social media stories. Incredible that activist groups are given the power to effectively filter our news feeds based on their subjective analysis of ‘truth’.
