This sounds like a genuine lapse of judgement by well meaning people who change their uninformed point of view when presented with new information. I don't see any reason to hate on that.

You could argue that they dont go out of the way to inform themselves, and rely on everyone else to fill them in.

Yeah meanwhile the rest of us are all sitting around reading every book on society and race and ecological disaster that we can so as to be perfectly informed.

Reddit is literally the most scummy place on the Internet. Every sub is just circlejerking and dead memes, posted by abhorrent people who will do anything for popularity. That site isn't worth your time.
