It's possible... and it's possible they will cancel it again later in that Generation. It's Sony we are talking about. They do such Things.

Why do you think they went x86? To avoid including two sets of chips as they did on PS3.

From a technical perspective you're absolutely right. But Sony is doing anti consumer moves on a regular Basis. I don't say they WILL do it. I just don't trust them.

Besides the cross-play thing, what else are they doing on a regular basis that’s anti-consumer?

Linux, BC as mentioned (more how they talked about, than the fact weak Jaguar can't emulate cell), overpriced PS Now, bad OL infrastr., console war mentality that comes directly from Sony leadership (as ex manager said), no proper refund system, no replacable controller batteries

Microsoft is definitely more pro-consumer overall, but Sony will be adopting many of these practices positive for next generation.

Oh, I agree with this but it wasn't true in 2013 - this is the power of competition. Nintendo is perhaps the least consumer friendly but Sony is in a similar place. Microsoft is doing great work these days. Hope it lasts this time!

Then it sounds like its time to pack up the PS4 to sell and wait 3/4 years to catch up on next set of exclusives on PS5.

In this age of BC, ports, remakes, and new machines being x86, o yes. Pre 5th/6th gen no since the ancient exclusives. Also I'm space limited.

That’s cool. Honestly, for myself, I tend to play more older games than new. I’d rather give up my PS4 or Xbox over a Genesis + Sega CD...
