This "extension" mechanism is very limited. Will take away advantages of true XML extensions for feeds, no mixins possible.

Although I appreciate the better specified title & content attributes that make clear what 'encoding' is used for the data (plain vs. html)

Would the JSON feed be better if the posts were in Markdown rather than encoded in HTML? It would be much more readable.
