@daringfireball I'm happy others think Google oversteps their bounds. Good design means respecting the conventions of each platform. -
@daringfireball The worst one is Google Maps. Try to navigate back to 'home', the UI is so confusing you can't do it w/o crashing the car. -

@bpmarkowitz@gruber It really does. And there is some beautiful UI work here– the reviews on Google Play don't seem to agree though.

@daringfireball re: iTunes/Windows, historically all media apps were heavily skinned, including WMP. Matching OS was *against* convention -
@daringfireball It was stupid, but it was normal. iTunes didn’t match OS X either until OS X changed to match iTunes. RIP: Brushed Metal
