The difference is job security
That's disappointing, everyone should be in a workplace where it's safe for them to make mistakes and learn from them.

Unfortunately that's not always an option, especially in low demand/high supply areas.

Absolutely. And this can explain why non-junior devs who worry about their job security for other reasons may also be reluctant to admit or highlight their mistakes.
