s/people from other countries/Americans/ Because, invariably, it's because they've decided on their own how the food should be consumed and e.g. discovered that vegemite should not be consumed like nutella

I think its the pure schadenfreude that comes from watching someone eat something they think is chocolate and then finding out (too late) that is very much NOT chocolate (and is in many ways the very opposite of chocolate).
