So I want to hit the gym, and I have a super cheap trashy one right near home. But I really struggle with habit building every time I've tried before. What are your techniques?

I go in the morning before work and I (try to) have my stuff packed and my gym gear out the night before so when I get up it's more of an effort not to go.
