Right. GSM going out of range should not mean Android Hotspot disables itself. Probably a good thing I don't use trains every day...

Have you recently changed sw version? was a really annoying bug a while back that disabled the hotspot on every cell change

Could be related. It's not dropping/disabling every time cell changes. The other side of the problem is OS X's WiFi amnesia...

Yeah - the intention of that bit of code is to turn off the hotspot when you go from home network to roaming. Would be better
