We introduced the "EMIT" clause in our SIGMOD paper on streaming SQL (with authors from @ApacheBeam and @ApacheFlink) because you sometimes want to do "push" queries on "tables", or "pull" queries on "streams". It's nice to now see it in KSQL.

We avoided "drop" (and also "trigger") because they have existing meanings in SQL. But our "EMIT STREAM" will emit redactions (i.e. rows that have been deleted) and updated rows
