You clearly didn't know what you were asking for and who you asking to do it. You forced YouTube to enforce their policy to the letter making education and people you agree with fair game because it falls under hurtful. Now you're like... This is not what was being pushed for at all.

The hurtful clause was trotted out several times by the people advocating for to the letter enforcement.

They screen capped the clause and circled hurtful. It was plain as day.

Right. They're referring to mocking someone for being gay and Mexican. Not people documenting news. These incidental bans are what happens when techbros think their damn ML algos can fix everything.

It wasn't about reference. It was about a literal reading of the policy and a demand that it be enforced. Crowder was an example. This was also stated several times by Carlos Maza and other big names in the mix.

When was Crowder banned as required by the policy? This is basically exactly what nobody wanted.

This is where the "they didn't understand what they were asking for" comes in.

It seems there's two groups of people who don't understand what was being asked for. 1. folks who literally cannot tell the difference between targeted harassment and news, and 2. @TeamYouTube .

They circled hurtful and literally said it was about more than Crowder and his tactics. They're some of the most popular tweets. You're reinterpreting what they said word for word to something else.

Do you actually not understand what hateful means, or are you just playing a part here?

Yes, hateful was in the list, but hurtful was specifically addressed.
