A big mahalo to everyone for an exciting and productive TESS Data for Asteroseismology (T'DA) workshop at
@UHIfA this week.@NASA_TESS community, get ready for millions of new FFI light curves heading your way!#tdahawaii#TDAWG0@sacsciencepic.twitter.com/RQZe1WnqGA

Excited to kick off the TESS Data for Asteroseismology (T’DA) Workshop at
@UHIfA this week to hack away on@NASA_TESS data!#tdahawaiipic.twitter.com/Ofd0vlKD2d

Indeed! Maunakea observatories have also been leading in exoplanet discoveries for decades. One of my favorite results is this movie showing directly imaged planets (using Keck) orbiting another star, which will only get better with time:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVgKidAuf4o …

Join us at the
@uhmanoa Campus Center this Friday from 9am-noon for a morning of astronomy fun and information! There will be hands-on activities and info tables in the Campus Center Courtyard, and a series of short talks in the Campus Center Ballroom.@UHIfApic.twitter.com/CwNcQQaq9u

Fortunate to be able to work with such a fantastic group of young scientists at
@UHIfA. Farewell Dr. Grunblatt and good luck on your next adventure in NYC!pic.twitter.com/G16gOdmLs3

Congratulations to Dr.
@SKGrunblatt, who successfully defended his@UHIfA dissertation "Giant Planets Transiting Giant Stars" last week! It has been a pleasure to be your advisor and I'm looking forward to many more fruitful collaborations.pic.twitter.com/6nMGpTMNCk

A few impressions from the first week of our

Our
#Astro2020 white paper on asteroseismology: https://arxiv.org/abs/1903.08188 . tl;dr: 1) the decade will bring a ~3 order of mag increase in detections & we need follow-up resources to make the most out of them; 2) Cool dwarf asteroseismology using precise RVs is the next frontier!pic.twitter.com/8oPa1wHXOy

5/n My favorite part: the paper was a huge
@NASA_TESS community effort. 7+ spectroscopy teams, ~10 asteroseismology teams, ~3 SED fitters, 2 AO teams - all critical input to get a handle on systematic errors. Highlights huge cross-disciplinary potential of the TESS community!pic.twitter.com/1bpkZzPT7s

4/n By combining the seismic characterization of the star with transits & RVs we measured the planet density to ~15%. Systems like TOI-197 may shed light on the transition between sub-Saturns and Jupiters, which follow distinctly different mass-radius relations.pic.twitter.com/epWqnISXBG

The planet is a hot Saturn, receiving more than 300 times the irradiance of Earth in its 14.3 day orbit. It sits at the base of the "inflation sequence" of gas-giant planets, and may be inflated as its host star evolves further up the giant branch.pic.twitter.com/rvGvBK39Kt

2/n The oscillation spectrum shows that host star sits at the subgiant - red giant transition. The amplitude of the signal is as predicted, supporting the expected yield of thousands of solar-like oscillators in 2-minute cadence data.pic.twitter.com/mW8mP7IdrM

Wrapping up the first Sydney-Hawaii-Ohio @NASAKepler/
@NASA_TESS galactic archeology collaboration meeting at@UHIfA. Lots of exciting papers to write!pic.twitter.com/K5DE6dZZFq

Thank you for everything @NASAKepler! You've changed our lives forever & your science will continue for decades to come. Too many memories, but one of my favorites is this 5th year anniversary selfie with a small part of the amazing team that I've had the honor to work with.pic.twitter.com/xq6KYv78aG

Check out the latest
@UHIfA Aloha Brief video, with@TravisABerger presenting our (now accepted)#GaiaDR2 paper on revising the properties of stars and exoplanets in the#Kepler field!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmzkKjtaVf4 … -
TFW you walk to a conference to give a talk about @NASAKepler and pass the monument of Copernicus.
