    Mostly, I am grateful for Cher’s impact on our sons. A relationship with a grandparent is special. A meaningful relationship with a great-grandparent…magical. Today we are flying to Natchez for her funeral. Cher passed away this week at 98. May her memory be a blessing. (4)

    The image I will always cherish was Cher in the thick of our very traditional Jewish wedding even though it was so foreign to her very traditional Catholicism. She was overjoyed for Campbell. (3)

    I was always riveted by Cher’s stories...stories, stories, stories...richly told about life at home during her husband’s multiple WWII tours in Europe & also about life in Mississippi pre- and post-desegregation. (2)

    The first time I met ’s family was when she took me to Natchez, MS for Thanksgiving w/her grandmother, Cher. She was a rock of stability when Campbell and her sisters were growing up. (1)

    For those asking, had been planning a low-key affair for his Bar Mitzvah. Service at the Kotel or Masada followed by a small Kiddush/luncheon. But it now looks like he’ll also host a separate party in Janesville to make it easier for those who can’t travel to Israel
