Omg, this incredible database of women of color, queer women, and nonbinary folks working in the food world. No more excuses for lazy editors filling pages with the same stale aioli. is a force of nature.

A Sephora-type store composed ONLY of the travel sizes of luxury beauty products would be a big hit. Hear me, venture capital, and heed me.

As I've been learning, this is a fascinating and difficult time for an American to write about other countries and cultures. Which is why I was so impressed with on San Juan:

This cocktail-menus-for-all controversy is really baffling. A) restaurants make a huge margin on each cocktail, much higher than on food, and B) there are always more dessert menus per capita than anyone needs. Switch the algorithm on those two and you'll be golden.

This is truly frightening. Given the cycle between this and then the president regurgitating talking points on Fox, not sure what other evidence you need that it's becoming state TV.

RIP Steve Bochco, creator of Hill Street Blues, a great & transformative show that blew my mind — & Cop Rock, a wild big swing that failed, which is the kind of thing that makes TV interesting in the first place.
