I don't believe the issue is with the technology, but rather how presenters use the technology. The last presentation I gave utilized Powerpoint but was made up of pictures in it's entirety - absolutely nothing for anyone to read.

And why did you need PowerPoint then? Afraid the extra gigabyte required for the .ppt was getting lonely on your hard drive?

I didn't need it - but I was able to use it effectively to convey a message. Sorry that doesn't align with your perspective.
