The reasoning is right in the post. .Net core support is still in preview and has serious perf issues. Also simple things - like 64bit support - aren’t supported.
In one of the comparisons, he stacks the deck in favor of Azure by using Azure blob store as the backend of both, and AWS still wins. The problem demonstrated (slow provisioning of backing VMs) has been known for a long time and has nothing to do with .net core.
