@danluu any idea why hiring is so broken and companies/hr/hiring manager can't believe a good person can learn quickly?
I have some theories, but nothing conclusive (and my theories won't really fit in a tweet or a reasonable sized series of tweets). What do you think?

None either. The transitivity of human trust doesn't translate easily through a CV? Most get hired through personal connection and there seems to be cliques (US vs. EU, start-up circus vs.). More devs and good CVs don't stand out?

Afraid of non-avg devs as they might move more quickly? Start-ups besides wanting to disrupt pick friends first and on growth don't want to take a bet? Want 15 years of Go experience?

The turnaround in SFO seems quite high as well. Maybe that is another contributing factor? https://hackerlife.co/blog/san-francisco-large-corporation-employee-tenure …
