That latency wouldn't surprise us a whole lot. You ~need at least 5ms for debounce. With housekeeping & overhead, it's easy to get to 20ms.

Hahaha, I have friends who swear by their $100+ gaming keyboards. I have some logitech $16 board that works like a champ. Placebo effect!

Have you tried a mech one with TMK/QMK firmware? It’s OSS so can maybe help pinpoint if lag is in the KB firmware or OS

Basically, all keyboards are limited to the 1000 Hz polling rate of USB 2.0 FS. I write keyboard firmware (https://github.com/kiibohd/controller …).

In theory, a USB 2.0 HS keyboard is possible. But there's still the issue of the OS side processing which I don't really have numbers for.
