People are claiming they'll switch to nginx because caddy now injects maybe 30 bytes of "ad" into the header of the free version.

Approximately 0% of users will see the "ad" and the extra header will add approximately 0% to the page weight of the median page.

Why didn't the people complaining about the extra bytes complain that nginx's 'Server' header is > caddy's? ( "nginx/1.8.0" vs. "Caddy")

"The fact that the headers aren't seen by most non-technical users is moot."

@danluu 2/2 Labelling the free version makes its users look cheap. It's a public image issue when technical folk see "sponsors" injected. -
Umm...because they are cheap?

@danluu You're looking at this the wrong way. There's stiff competition. Why put up with something when there are alternatives? 1/2Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It's not the size of the header, it's the content. Again: the fact that 0% of users will see the sponsorship is moot.
-
How is it moot?
