What is "positive discrimination?" Have you read internal document or are you just riffing? Nothing positive about saying women inferior.

The claim isn't explicit b/c of the context, but the claim is that the term positive discrimination is intellectual sleight of hand.
When people refer to positive discrimination the unstated and unsupported claim is that the baseline state is no discrimination

If we're talking about the Google manifesto, the data is poor and the situation is messy, so it's less clear what's happening.

Damore asserts that diversity programs are "positive discrimination", but IMO that's not obvious and a claim like that needs support.

Despite the massive amount of ink spilled on the issue, I haven't seen anyone make a compelling empirical argument.

This isn't to say that you couldn't make a moral case for what's called positive discrimination. It's just that one seem to be necessary.
