What fraction of programmers with 10 years of experience have been fired? My gut reaction is maybe 2%-3%, but that seems obviously wrong...

oh, also. i know a lot of people who were fired from companies that no longer exist. this could introduce skew in the datasets
Yeah good point. My guess is that the "true" involuntary attrition rate is probably at least double. If it's 5%: 1 - (0.95)^10 = 40%

honestly, doesn't seem too high. slightly less than 1 in 2 people who have worked for 10 years have gotten fired (at least) once?
